Apple has introduced a new firmware update for the AirPods Pro 2, now available to developers. This latest version, 7A5244b, is part of Apple’s ongoing efforts to enhance the functionality of its wireless earbuds.
The firmware, exclusive to the AirPods Pro 2, is expected to bring several new features alongside the upcoming iOS 18. Among the anticipated updates are enhanced voice isolation, personalized spatial audio with dynamic head tracking for gaming, and the ability to nod or shake your head to interact with Siri.
Installing beta firmware on AirPods requires a more complex process compared to other Apple devices. Developers must use a Mac to enroll their AirPods for updates, along with a beta version of Xcode.
Apple’s latest public release for AirPods Pro 2 firmware remains at version 6F8. Users can check their firmware version by navigating to Settings, selecting AirPods Pro, and viewing the version details.
