Apple plans to update its entire AirPods lineup in 2024. The company will introduce new models and software enhancements aimed at improving user experience. These updates will increase the functionality and versatility of Apple’s popular wireless earbuds and headphones.

AirPods 3: New Features and Models

The fourth-generation AirPods will launch in late 2024. Apple will offer two versions at different price points. Both models will feature a new design with shorter stems and a USB-C port, replacing the current Lightning connector. The higher-end version will include Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). This feature, previously exclusive to the AirPods Pro, will become more accessible. This model will also have a speaker in the charging case for easier Find My location tracking.

AirPods Pro: Enhanced Capabilities

AirPods Pro users will gain new features with the iOS 18 update. These features include hands-free controls through new head gestures and Siri interactions. This will allow users to manage calls and notifications without speaking. The update also introduces Voice Isolation, which will reduce background noise for clearer calls. Additionally, a new Adaptive Audio setting will give users more control over noise cancellation based on their surroundings.

AirPods Max: A Needed Refresh

Apple’s high-end AirPods Max will receive a refresh in 2024. The new model will switch from a Lightning port to USB-C, aligning it with the rest of Apple’s AirPods lineup. This update will also comply with European regulations. The AirPods Max 2 is expected to feature Bluetooth 5.3 for improved connectivity. It may also include the H2 chip, which powers the latest audio enhancements in the AirPods Pro.
