Apple has shifted its production strategy for the iPhone 16 series, focusing more on the Pro models. The company expects these models to make up 67% of the total iPhone 16 production. This change reflects the growing consumer preference for premium features and advanced technology.
Anticipated Sales and Production Targets
Apple plans to produce around 90.1 million units of the iPhone 16 series by the end of 2024. The iPhone 16 Pro Max is expected to be the most produced, with 33.2 million units. The iPhone 16 Pro follows with 26.6 million units. In comparison, the standard iPhone 16 will see 24.5 million units, and the iPhone 16 Plus will have the lowest production at 5.8 million units.
Supply Chain Adjustments
To meet the high demand for the Pro models, Apple is making key adjustments to its supply chain. LG Innotek will supply the initial batches of folded zoom technology for the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max. Additionally, LG Innotek and Jahwa Electronics will provide the optical image stabilization (OIS) components, ensuring top-tier camera performance. Apple also plans to diversify its supply chain in the fourth quarter, aiming to lower costs and increase production.
