Samsung’s Galaxy Ultra Watch, which debuted in June 2024, has been criticized for failing to meet expectations in durability and customer service. The smartwatch, which closely resembles Apple’s Watch Ultra, has been at the center of controversy after a user reported a significant defect just weeks after purchase.

Durability Concerns Surface Early

One customer, who received their Galaxy Ultra Watch in July, experienced a major issue when the action button fell off in mid-August. Despite the device being under warranty, Samsung refused to provide a replacement, instead offering a repair that cost the customer $107. This incident has raised concerns about the watch’s build quality, especially when compared to its Apple counterpart.

Customer Service Under Fire

Samsung’s response to the issue has drawn criticism. The company’s refusal to replace the defective watch, opting instead to charge the customer for repairs, has left many questioning its customer service practices. In contrast, Apple typically replaces defective units under warranty, allowing the company to investigate the cause of the defect. Samsung’s handling of this case highlights a gap in customer support when compared to industry leaders like Apple.
