Apple has confirmed the release of macOS Sequoia on September 16. The latest update brings several features, including iPhone Mirroring and window tiling, aimed at boosting productivity and user convenience.
iPhone Mirroring and Window Tiling
A key feature of macOS Sequoia is iPhone Mirroring, which allows users to interact with their iPhone directly from their Mac. This tool simplifies workflow, especially for those who frequently switch between devices. Notifications from the iPhone will now appear on the Mac, making it easier to respond without needing to pick up the phone.
Additionally, Apple introduces window tiling. This feature lets users drag and snap windows to the edges of their screens for easy multitasking. It improves organization by helping users manage multiple open apps more efficiently.
New Passwords App and Safari Enhancements
Apple also debuts the Passwords app in macOS Sequoia. Previously, password management was embedded in Safari. Now, users can manage their saved passwords more easily through this standalone app. While it might not replace third-party password managers, it offers sufficient functionality for everyday use.
Safari sees upgrades as well, including improvements to Reader mode. Users can now customize their reading experience for more comfort. Future updates will enhance Safari further, using Apple Intelligence to summarize content and improve search capabilities.
Apple Intelligence and Future Updates
While macOS Sequoia brings exciting new tools, Apple Intelligence will roll out later in the year. It will introduce AI-driven features such as automatic content summaries in Mail and image generation in the Image Playground tool.
Availability and Compatibility
macOS Sequoia launches on September 16, and it will be available for iMac 2019 models and newer, MacBook Air 2020 and later, and all Apple Silicon Macs. Some features, such as Apple Intelligence, will arrive in later updates throughout the year.
With iPhone Mirroring, window tiling, and the new Passwords app, macOS Sequoia promises to make using a Mac more seamless and efficient.
