Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro Max has faced shipping delays within minutes of preorders opening on September 13, 2024. Demand for the new flagship device soared, leading to quick changes in shipping dates. Originally, Apple had set September 20 as the delivery date for early buyers. However, just 18 minutes into the preorder window, some models began slipping behind schedule.

Titanium Models Among the First to Slip

The titanium models were the first to see delays, with shipping times slipping by 5-7 days. Customers ordering the white and black versions also experienced setbacks, particularly for the 1TB and 512GB configurations. By the two-hour mark, every iPhone 16 Pro Max model faced shipping delays of 3-4 weeks. As a result, some customers won’t receive their phones until early October.

Expect Longer Wait Times for Some Variants

Demand for the titanium models seems especially high, contributing to the early delays. Other color options also saw their shipping times stretch beyond the original promised date. Although most of the iPhone 16 Pro Max variants are affected, some configurations of the iPhone 16 Pro are also experiencing delays. The black 128GB version remains on track for delivery on September 20, but most other models now show delivery dates extending by 5-7 days.

While these delays are frustrating for some early adopters, customers may still find the iPhone 16 models in physical stores starting on September 20. However, those hoping to get their hands on the Pro Max models through online orders will likely have to wait longer.
