Steve Jobs Autographs to Headline Rare Auction

RR Auction is set to feature two rare items signed by Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. Bidding started on September 4, 2024, and these collectibles are expected to draw significant attention from tech enthusiasts and collectors.


Autographed Apple II Cassette Tape

One standout item is an Apple II cassette tape, signed by Jobs. These tapes were essential for data storage in the early Apple II computer. Currently, the top bid is $2,383, but auctioneers expect the tape to sell for over $10,000 by the auction’s close on September 28. This is the first known signed Apple II cassette tape, making it a unique piece of early Apple history.

Apple Computer Check

Another key piece is a check handwritten and signed by Jobs. Dated July 16, 1976, the check is made out to Elmar Electronics for $10.52. A similar check, signed by Jobs and made out to Radio Shack, fetched $46,063 last year. Bids for this check have already reached $12,650, with estimates predicting it will sell for at least $25,000.

These collectibles offer a rare glimpse into Apple’s early years. The cassette tape is a testament to the innovative Apple II, designed by Steve Wozniak. It provided a faster and more affordable data storage option compared to other systems at the time.
