The highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed Shadows for Mac will not meet its original November 2024 release date. Instead, Ubisoft has pushed the launch to February 14, 2025. The delay is due to the development team needing more time to refine the game’s features​.


November Release Pushed to February

Ubisoft had initially planned to release Assassin’s Creed Shadows for Mac on November 15, 2024. This date was announced during their May 2024 event, much to the excitement of fans. However, Marc-Alexis Cote, the executive producer, confirmed that the team requires more time to deliver the quality expected from such an ambitious title.

Ubisoft Focuses on Polishing the Game

Ubisoft shared that Assassin’s Creed Shadows is an ambitious project, which is why they need extra time to polish it. The development team plans to enhance critical aspects of the game, including gameplay and user experience. “We need more time to polish and refine the experience,” said Ubisoft in a public letter​.

Refunds and Preorder Updates for Fans

Ubisoft has confirmed that fans who preordered the game will be issued refunds. Additionally, those who preorder the game moving forward will receive the first expansion for free once it launches. The game, set in feudal Japan, continues to build excitement with its shinobi assassin and samurai storyline​.


While the delay of Assassin’s Creed Shadows might disappoint some fans, it will give Ubisoft more time to perfect the game. With a new release date set for February 2025, the delay aims to ensure the final product meets expectations.
