To mark World Teachers’ Day, Apple launched new classroom resources and expanded its global education grant program. Announced on October 1, 2024, these initiatives aim to help educators enhance creativity in the classroom while offering free STEAM programming to underserved communities.
Creative Activities for Students
Apple’s new resources include engaging activities for both young and older students. For example, students can enjoy drawing with the Reveal a Constellation activity or creating music with Lay Down a Beat. These activities, part of the Everyone Can Create program, help teachers integrate creativity without adding to their workload. These resources are free through the Apple Education Community, which now reaches 16 more countries and regions.
Expanding Apple’s Education Grants
In addition to the new resources, Apple expanded its Community Education Initiative. The program now supports 100 more schools and communities across six continents. These grants focus on providing students with access to technology, coding, and professional skills training. Apple’s education initiatives have already impacted over 500,000 students and supported more than 200 schools and nonprofits.
Lisa Jackson, Apple’s vice president of Environment, Policy, and Social Initiatives, said, “At Apple, we believe in the power of education to open doors and create opportunities. We’re thrilled to bring these resources to more communities worldwide”.
Looking Ahead
Apple continues to expand its Apple Learning Coach program. This initiative helps teachers use Apple products effectively in their classrooms. As Apple invests more in global education, its efforts aim to shape the next generation of creators, coders, and innovators.
With expanded grants and new resources, Apple is empowering teachers and students worldwide. These initiatives underscore Apple’s dedication to accessible and innovative education.
