Apple is expanding its retail presence in India with four new stores planned by the end of 2025. This move aims to deepen Apple’s connection with Indian consumers and increase access to its products. The new stores will be in Bengaluru and Pune, with additional outlets opening in Delhi and Mumbai, which already host Apple stores.

Expanding to Key Cities

The expansion includes Apple’s first stores in Bengaluru and Pune. Bengaluru, home to Apple’s corporate headquarters for India, will finally get a retail store. Pune, a growing tech hub, is another strategic location as Apple reaches more urban centers.

Apple opened its first Indian stores in 2023 in Mumbai and Delhi. These initial stores have become significant contributors to Apple’s business in India, making up nearly 20 percent of its sales. Encouraged by this success, Apple is enhancing its retail footprint to bring its immersive store experience to more Indian consumers.

Supporting Local Manufacturing

In addition to expanding retail locations, Apple is also increasing local manufacturing. Since 2017, Apple has made iPhones in India. Now, the company produces models like the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus domestically. This year, Apple ramped up production in India, which now accounts for seven percent of all iPhones made globally.

Apple’s manufacturing operations support India’s Make in India initiative. This program encourages companies to produce goods locally. By manufacturing in India, Apple also avoids the country’s high import taxes on electronics, boosting its competitiveness in the market.

Strengthening Ties with Indian Consumers

Apple’s retail expansion reflects a strategy to build long-term relationships with Indian customers. “Our stores are incredible places to experience the magic of Apple,” said Apple Retail Senior Vice-President Deirdre O’Brien. “We’re excited to give our customers in India more ways to discover our products and services.”

Through expanding retail and manufacturing operations, Apple shows its commitment to the Indian market. These moves enhance Apple’s brand presence, create jobs, and support local production. For Indian consumers, this expansion means easier access to Apple’s products, from the latest iPhones to in-store support.

With these new stores, Apple strengthens its foothold in one of the world’s fastest-growing smartphone markets, setting the stage for further growth in India.
