Apple has launched a series of workshops and labs worldwide to support developers working on its new visionOS platform. The first event took place on October 2 at the Apple Developer Center in Cupertino, California. These sessions aim to help developers build apps for Apple’s Vision Pro headset, and they will continue in various locations through October and November.
Hands-On Training in Cupertino
The Cupertino event drew 170 developers, all eager to learn about visionOS. The workshop, called “Envision the Future: Build Great Apps for visionOS,” gave attendees hands-on training with tools like SwiftUI, ARKit, RealityKit, and Reality Composer Pro. Apple staff provided live coding demonstrations, showing developers immediate results.
One attendee, Todd Heberlein, described the experience as a “cozy WWDC.” He praised the interactive format, saying, “Presenters wrote code live and shared their results.” He added that the event fostered a collaborative atmosphere, where developers could exchange tips and ideas.
Expanding Across the Globe
Apple is hosting additional workshops in Toronto, Shanghai, Seoul, and Tokyo. In Toronto, half-day sessions run throughout October. Tokyo’s four-week online workshop began on October 6. Shanghai will host two all-day events on October 16, and Seoul will offer labs from October 23 to November 7. Apple has also opened sign-ups for 30-minute online consultations, allowing developers from North America, China, and Korea to receive personalized guidance.
Supporting visionOS Development
These events show Apple’s commitment to helping developers as they explore visionOS. By offering both in-person and virtual sessions, Apple ensures that developers around the world can access training for visionOS.
