Apple has donated $3 million to combat AIDS in 2024, reinforcing its dedication to global health. This donation stems from its annual Apple Pay campaign held from November 29 to December 8. By tying purchases to contributions, the campaign highlights how collective efforts drive meaningful change.

Customer Participation Fuels Donations

This year, Apple pledged $5 for each Apple Pay transaction made in Apple Stores, online, or through the App Store. Customers played a critical role in exceeding last year’s $1 million cap. By boosting the donation amount per transaction, Apple showcased the power of customer engagement in addressing global issues.

Global Fund Partnership: A Lifesaving Impact

Apple’s donations go through its partnership with the Global Fund, an organization combating HIV, tuberculosis, and malaria in underserved regions. Since 2002, the Global Fund has saved 65 million lives with $65 billion in distributed healthcare funding.

Apple also contributes via its (PRODUCT)RED line, where sales from red-colored devices, such as iPhones and accessories, support AIDS-related initiatives. This collaboration raises both funds and awareness for the fight against the disease.

Apple’s annual efforts highlight the strength of corporate responsibility paired with customer action. Small, individual transactions collectively make a significant impact, helping address one of the world’s pressing health crises.
