Apple has finally broken ground on its major Apple TV+ production studios in Culver City, Los Angeles. The tech giant started visible construction after four years of planning and permits, marking a key step in expanding its entertainment footprint.
The project had been in the works since Apple purchased the 550,000-square-foot site back in 2021. Located along National, Venice, and Washington Boulevards, the new complex will consist of two modern buildings — one with four stories, the other with five. Together, they’ll provide 536,000 square feet of office and production space.

A Hub for Apple’s Entertainment Future
The development also includes underground parking for 1,200 vehicles and several shuttle drop-off zones. Each building will feature upper-level terrace decks and street-level access points designed for convenience and flow.
In addition, Apple is planning to add 58,000 square feet of open green space. This area will act as a public-friendly zone next to Apple’s current 129,000-square-foot office on Washington Boulevard.
The company aims to house over 3,000 employees in its Los Angeles offices by 2026, reinforcing its commitment to original content and media development.
Timing Raises Eyebrows Amid Budget Concerns
While the new campus signals growth, it comes during a period of tighter spending at Apple TV+. Reports have revealed that the streaming service is currently operating at a financial loss, with budget cuts already in motion. Still, Apple appears to be betting on long-term gains in content production.
The use of cranes and rising structures along Venice Boulevard show clear signs that Apple is charging ahead — despite industry headwinds.
Looking Forward
Once complete, the new studios will strengthen Apple’s place in the competitive world of streaming content. As Hollywood production ramps up post-pandemic and companies compete for viewership, Apple’s long-delayed project might give it the creative space it needs to stay in the game.
For now, Culver City residents can watch the tech giant’s next chapter unfold, quite literally, from the ground up.
