Apple Music Classical, the dedicated streaming app for classical music lovers, just became more engaging. In its latest 2.2 update, Apple rolled out three major features that aim to enhance listening, learning, and discovery.
Time-Synced Listening Guides Now Available
First and foremost, the update introduces time-synced listening guides. As music plays, these guides provide real-time commentary on key moments, instrument changes, and compositional elements. This allows listeners to follow the music more closely and understand its structure.

Moreover, the feature supports six languages: English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese. Apple also plans to add more language options in future updates.
Curated Stations and Personalized Picks
In addition to the guides, the app now offers curated Editorial Stations. These stations are organized by genre, composer, instrument, or era. Because each playlist is handpicked by Apple’s editors, users can explore lesser-known pieces with confidence.
Furthermore, Apple has added personalized Home screen recommendations. These daily suggestions are based on each listener’s history and preferences, helping users rediscover old favorites or try something new.
A Platform Designed for Deeper Discovery
Apple Music Classical launched in 2023 to offer a focused experience outside the main Apple Music app. Since then, the platform has grown steadily, offering over 5 million tracks and detailed metadata.
Earlier this month, Apple expanded the app to web browsers, making access easier for Mac users. According to Anjali Malhotra, Apple Music Classical’s Global Director, these latest features are a leap forward.
“These updates transform a regular listening session into a guided musical journey,” Malhotra explained. “It’s a more immersive way to enjoy classical music.”
Final Thoughts
With these new features, Apple is clearly aiming to redefine how users engage with classical music. Whether you’re just beginning or already passionate, the app now offers more tools than ever to make each listen meaningful.
