Apple has officially re-released watchOS 11.4 to the public, just days after it briefly appeared and was quickly pulled. The update, now available for download, brings key improvements and a unique new feature aimed at enhancing user experience.

What’s New in the Update

The most notable addition in watchOS 11.4 is the “Break Through Silent Mode” alarm. This feature ensures your alarm sounds and vibrates even if Silent Mode is turned on. For users who wear their Apple Watch to bed, this means fewer chances of missing a wake-up alert.

Before this update, alarms followed Silent Mode settings, using only vibration. Now, users can count on both sound and haptics, making it more reliable—especially for deep sleepers.

Added Support and System Enhancements

watchOS 11.4 also brings support for Matter-enabled robotic vacuums and mops. Users can now control these smart devices using voice commands through their Apple Watch. They can start or stop cleaning, switch modes, and even return the robot to its dock.

Additionally, Apple included multiple behind-the-scenes improvements. These bug fixes and performance updates help ensure a smoother experience for daily users and improve system stability overall.

Background on watchOS 11

watchOS 11 was first announced in September 2024 with several new tools, such as customizable Activity Rings, an upgraded Vitals app for health tracking, and the Training Load tool designed for athletes. The 11.4 update builds on that foundation, refining the system even further.

How to Install the Update

To get watchOS 11.4, users must ensure their Apple Watch is at least 50% charged and connected to Wi-Fi. The update can be installed either through the Settings app on the watch or via the Apple Watch app on iPhone.

With this re-release, Apple continues to fine-tune its wearable platform, aiming to keep its user base satisfied with timely updates and useful new features.
