Apple TV+ stunned Severance fans by transforming the historic Bell Works building in Holmdel, New Jersey, into the fictional headquarters of Lumon Industries. The one-day event, called the Outdoor Retreat Team-Building Occurrence (ORTBO), took place on April 5 and celebrated the show’s third season renewal.

As guests arrived, they stepped into a surreal corporate world pulled straight from the series. From eerie set recreations to immersive activities, every detail was crafted to mirror Lumon’s unsettling charm.

Star-Studded Panel and Memorable Moments

To everyone’s delight, the event featured a surprise live panel hosted by Emmy winner Stephen Colbert. He was joined by Severance creator Dan Erickson, executive producer Ben Stiller, and the show’s full cast—including Adam Scott, Britt Lower, and John Turturro.

Before the discussion began, composer Theodore Shapiro performed the show’s haunting theme. Meanwhile, Gwendoline Christie stayed in character as Lorne, leading a dramatic reveal of Lumon’s mysterious Mammalians Nurturable department. These special moments helped blur the line between fiction and reality.

Fans Fully Immersed in the Severed World

As attendees moved through the venue, they were greeted by Miss Huang, received blue Lumon access cards, and entered an environment filled with authentic props. For example, they explored Mark’s cubicle, walked through the Macrodata Refinement floor, and peeked into the infamous break room.

In addition, guests enjoyed themed food like melon bars and Belgian waffles. They also had the chance to record personal messages to their “innies,” echoing the show’s signature memory-split theme.

Severance Continues to Captivate Viewers

Severance tells the story of Mark Scout, a Lumon employee who undergoes a surgical procedure that separates his work and personal lives. Because of its unique concept and powerful storytelling, the show has earned 14 Emmy nominations and several major awards.

Looking ahead, season two promises deeper mysteries and emotional stakes. Thankfully, fans don’t have to wait long—both seasons are now streaming on Apple TV+ for $9.99 per month, with free trials available.
