Apple TV+ has officially closed the curtain on its acclaimed comedy series Mythic Quest with a special revised finale. The fourth season, originally concluded in late March 2025, now features an updated ending to offer fans a more satisfying goodbye.
Executive producers, including series star Rob McElhenney, revealed that they revisited the finale after learning about the show’s cancellation. “Endings are hard,” they stated, “but with Apple’s blessing, we made one final update—so we could say goodbye, instead of just game over.”

From Launch to Legacy
Mythic Quest first premiered in February 2020 and quickly gained a loyal following. The show followed the staff of a fictional video game company navigating the challenges of managing a hit MMORPG. It combined workplace humor with heartfelt moments, earning a 97% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The show not only weathered the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, producing timely bonus episodes about remote work and returning to the office, but also inspired a spin-off miniseries called Side Quest.
Impact Beyond the Screen
McElhenney, along with co-creators Charlie Day and Megan Ganz, built a world that reflected the real-life dynamics of creative industries. The final season’s revised episode offers closure for characters and fans alike.
The cast—featuring Ashly Burch, Naomi Ekperigin, Jessie Ennis, Imani Hakim, David Hornsby, Charlotte Nicdao, and Danny Pudi—helped shape a show that stood out for its wit, emotional depth, and cultural relevance.
A Thank You to the Fans
“We’re so proud of the world we got to build,” the producers shared. “To all our fans, thank you for playing with us. And to our partners at Apple, thank you for believing in us from the very beginning.”
Mythic Quest may be over, but its influence on streaming comedy—and on fans who followed its journey—is set to last.
