iPhone 17 Slim Leaks Show Apple’s Thinnest Design Yet

New leaks suggest the upcoming iPhone 17 Slim, sometimes called the iPhone 17 Air, could be Apple’s thinnest iPhone to date. Images shared by leaker Sonny Dickson show dummy models that reveal just how slim the device might be, with some even questioning how there’s enough space for physical buttons.

The iPhone 17 Slim could measure as little as 5.5mm in thickness. That’s significantly thinner than the iPhone 16, which comes in at 7.8mm, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max at 8.25mm. While these are only dummies, the uniformity across multiple leaks adds credibility to the rumors.

Design Changes Confirmed

In addition to its slim profile, the dummy models suggest that the iPhone 17 Slim will fully embrace eSIM technology, dropping the traditional SIM card slot entirely. While U.S. models already rely on eSIM, this could mark a global shift for Apple’s devices.

The photos also show changes in the camera layout, continuing the trend of Apple refreshing its camera design with each major release. Though no internal specs are confirmed, the focus on ultra-thin hardware hints at major engineering innovations under the hood.

A New Direction for Apple

If the iPhone 17 Slim replaces the iPhone 16 Plus as expected, it could signal a new design era for Apple. Moving toward thinner, lighter models while maximizing performance will likely set the standard for future iPhone generations.

Although Apple has not officially commented, Sonny Dickson’s reliable track record—he correctly leaked the iPhone 16 screen sizes—gives weight to the latest revelations.

As more leaks surface ahead of the official reveal, excitement is building for what could be one of Apple’s boldest design moves yet.
