However, experts have raised serious concerns about this method. Environmentalists argue that focusing on fast-growing monocultures such as eucalyptus might do more harm than good.

Ecologist Giselda Durigan criticized the initiative, stating that Apple’s strategy is more about public image than real environmental progress. Eucalyptus trees, although efficient at capturing carbon, are not native to Brazil. Their introduction risks disrupting local ecosystems and draining critical water resources.
