With iOS 18, Apple has upgraded its Calendar app significantly, integrating the ability to create and manage reminders directly within the app. This integration simplifies task management by reducing the need to switch between multiple apps, thus helping users stay organized more effortlessly.

Here’s how to add a reminder in the Calendar app:

  • Open the Calendar App: Start by opening the Calendar app on your iOS device.
  • Initiate New Reminder: Tap the plus button located in the upper right corner.
  • Select the Reminder Tab: Choose the “Reminder” tab to start creating your reminder.
  • Enter Reminder Details:
    • Title: Type in the title of the reminder.
    • Date and Time: Set the specific date and time for the reminder.
  • Customize Your Reminder (Optional):
    • Add Notes: Include any relevant notes.
    • Set Repeat Schedules: Choose if the reminder should repeat and the frequency.
    • Choose Specific Lists: Organize by selecting specific lists to categorize the reminder.
  • Save the Reminder: Tap “Add” to save and set the reminder.

Enhanced Integration Between Calendar and Reminders

Although the Calendar app now facilitates reminder creation, it does not replace the dedicated Reminders app. Instead, both apps work collaboratively: any reminders you create will also appear in the Calendar alongside your scheduled events. This integration ensures that all your tasks and appointments are consolidated in one place, providing a unified and efficient user experience without sacrificing functionality.
