Apple is significantly enhancing the reach of its Look Around feature in Apple Maps. This update aims to expand coverage across more U.S. areas and new countries globally. Look Around, akin to Google Street View, offers high-resolution, street-level imagery. The latest expansion plans to extend this feature beyond major U.S. cities, covering rural areas and key highways.

Expansion Includes Rural U.S. and New International Locations

Besides the U.S., Apple is set to launch Look Around in several new countries, including Egypt, China, Turkey, and Mexico. This expansion builds on a recent update that incorporated six Central European nations into Look Around’s scope. These additions are part of Apple’s ongoing strategy to widen its mapping services worldwide.

Closing the Gap with Google Street View

While Look Around hasn’t yet achieved the global coverage of Google Street View, these expansions represent a significant stride towards narrowing this gap. By increasing its reach to more rural locations and new countries, Apple is enhancing its Maps service. This makes it a more formidable competitor in the international market.

Apple’s continuous improvements to Look Around underscore its commitment to upgrading its mapping services. This ensures users enjoy a more detailed and comprehensive navigation experience.
